Real replies from the people who build Quokka — usually within one business day.
Email [email protected] and a human will get back to you. It helps enormously if you include your iPhone model, your iOS version, whether the issue is on the parent or the child device, and what you expected to happen.
A parent creates the family first. Then, from the parent app, open the invite sheet for that child and share the short code with them. On the child's iPhone, install Quokka, choose to join a family, and enter the code. Kids never enter an email address, a phone number, a password or a date of birth — the code is the whole identity step.
A co-parent joins the same way, with their own invite code. Both adults then have parent powers in that family.
Anyone holding a valid code can join the family it belongs to. Share codes only with the intended person, and only over a channel you trust.
Screen-time enforcement needs Apple's Family Controls authorized on both devices — the parent authorizes it on their iPhone, and the child separately authorizes it on the child's iPhone during onboarding. If enforcement isn't happening, check in this order:
Lock and unlock commands are delivered by push notification, so they can be delayed if the child's device is offline or has notifications disabled for Quokka. The app reconciles the correct state when it next syncs. Check that notifications are enabled for Quokka on the child's device (iOS Settings → Quokka → Notifications).
Family Controls is a permission to apply limits, not to observe. Quokka cannot show you which apps your child used, for how long, what they typed, or what they browsed. If you need per-app usage reporting, Apple's built-in Screen Time reports on the child's device are the place to look. See our comparison with Apple Screen Time for where each tool fits.
Completions that require review only pay out once a parent approves them. Open the parent app and check the pending review list. If it was approved and the stars still haven't landed, make sure both devices have a connection and reopen the app on the child's device.
Repeating tasks generate a new occurrence per period (daily or weekly). Completing today's occurrence doesn't remove the task — it schedules the next one.
Changing a task's star value affects future completions. Stars already earned stay in the child's balance; we never claw back earned stars.
Quokka is free to download. Quokka Premium is an auto-renewable subscription, sold on weekly, monthly and yearly plans through the App Store. Current prices in your currency are shown on the purchase screen in the app and on the App Store product page. See pricing for how it works.
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so cancel through iOS: Settings → [your Apple ID] → Subscriptions → Quokka → Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Apple processes all purchases and handles refunds under its own policy. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Use "Restore Purchases" on the paywall or the kid lock screen. This is also the step that delivers a Family Sharing purchase to a second device — Apple does not push shared entitlements automatically, so the receiving device has to ask for them once.
Open Profile in the app and choose to delete your account. The app tells you exactly what will be removed before you confirm — deleting a parent account can also remove the family and the child accounts within it. Associated personal data is deleted within 30 days. Cancel any active subscription separately in iOS Settings; account deletion does not cancel billing.
Most fields are editable directly in the app. For an export, a correction we can't make in-app, or any other data-rights request, email [email protected] from the address associated with your account. Full detail is in the privacy policy.
If you believe you've found a vulnerability, email [email protected] with the subject line "Security". Please give us a reasonable chance to fix it before disclosing it publicly.
Email [email protected]. Include your iPhone model, iOS version, which device the problem is on (parent or child), what you did, and what happened instead. Screenshots help.
